THE RIDE TO REACH TOUR
The Ride to REACH charity bike ride is proudly in support of more than 100 families from the Australian Registered Charity & Local Cambodian NGO ‘REACH Siem Reap’.
The ride begins from Kampot province in the south, where our group will meet for the first time to enjoy welcome drinks at Amber Kampot. The challenge will commence the following morning, and as a group, we will spend 4 days pedaling our way through a mix of stunning coastline scenery, local fishing villages, rural farms and up to the capital city of Phnom Penh. This will mark the mid-way point, and a well deserved rest day.
Continuing on we will follow the Mekong river and make our way North. We will ride along charming rural roads and pass through cottage industry local villages, completely untouched by tourism, and see the way most Cambodians live.
Our 8 day cycling challenge will conclude in Siem Reap, gateway to the world-famous Angkor temple complex and UNESCO world heritage site. The ride ends once we cycle through the gates of REACH Siem Reap, where all of the beneficiaries and local team, who you have worked so hard to support, will be waiting, ready to celebrate all that you have achieved for the community.
THE PLANNED ROUTE
The 10-night, 11-day tour is inclusive of 3 days off the bike with a total of 8 days in the saddle and we will cycle anywhere between 50-110km in a day. Before the tour commences, our guides do an excellent job of mapping out the trails so that they can take us through remote villages and secondary roads; we will experience a wide variety of terrains, more than half of which will be off road. Our team will plan everything thoroughly, but with limited infrastructure in Cambodia, inevitably comes a lot of unknown detours, so we ask all participants to expect the unexpected and just enjoy the ride, the good, the bad and the bumpy!

THE CAUSE
Our partner charity REACH Siem Reap is a local Cambodian NGO and Australian Registered charity that works tirelessly to stand alongside more than 200 children and their families, in their fight against poverty.
The team at REACH are passionate about keeping families together.
Poverty is multidimensional and to break the cycle, children need access to equal opportunities whilst their families also receive holistic support. Once a family is enrolled at REACH, all students and their guardians have access to the 11 free integrated programs which the NGO has to offer.
REACH’s community center operates for more than 200 students 6 days per week, their dedicated local team serves daily school meals while hosting an array of supplementary educational classes from English, to ethics, sport and Computer. On top of this, there is a team of social workers that ensure every beneficiary has access to health care and social services, so that despite the adversity and challenges brough on by poverty, every child can attend school.
REACH supports children from age 5, right through until their significant adolescent years, where they are nurtured through the Youth Pathways program, until they are able to graduate high school, secure scholarships in vocational training, go on to university, or procure fair employment.
During the journey, you will then have the pleasure of meeting the REACH team, connecting with them closely and seeing first-hand the impact you’re making. On the final day of dusty and exhausting journey, our group will ride into the gates of the community center, to meet the children, families, and entire community you’ve worked so hard to support.

FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT TO REACH
By participating in this annual ride, you are agreeing to raise $5,000 AUD, $3,500 USD or £2,750 GBP. Every dollar is put towards improving the lives of the 200 children REACH support and their families.
**All funds raised go directly to the cause, as such, you are required to cover the costs of your own flights and travel insurance.
THE EQUIPMENT
We will provide you with quality Cannondale Trail 6 mountain bikes in Cambodia.
We will also provide you with a helmet, buff, custom cycling jersey, drink bottle and arm sleeves. You will be required to bring your own cycling shorts, gloves & shoes.
We do not allow riders to bring their own bikes, the main reason being that when you inevitably get a flat tire, or need something altered our local mechanics will not be able to repair your bikes efficiently.
However, if you would like to bring your own seat, pedals or handle-bars, our mechanics are happy to fix these to the bikes for you.
For comfort you might like to bring your own helmet. Other accessories such as a novelty horns are a great way to identify your bike in the line-up.
