The Double Ride Experience:

This 18-day "Double Ride" is a unique blend of physical challenge and cultural immersion, culminating in a direct and profound contribution to empowering vulnerable children. You'll be supported by a group of like-minded, selfless humanitarians, all united by the common goal of raising vital funds for REACH Siem Reap. While challenging, this journey is designed to be inclusive, welcoming riders of varying abilities. E-bikes are available, and the entire event is fully supported by air-conditioned vehicles at all times. Equipment:


For our Ride to REACH events, we provide the Cannondale Trail 6 as our standard touring bicycle. This reliable and comfortable bike is equipped with 2x8 speed gearing, hydraulic disc brakes for confident stopping power, and a preload front suspension with lockout to handle varied terrains. Adjustable stems are available upon request to ensure a personalized fit, and each bike (sizes M, L, and XL) includes two bottle holders. We also provide a bike stand, helmet, top tube phone bag, and bell for your convenience and safety.


For riders seeking an extra boost, we offer the option to upgrade to pedal-assist Giant Talon E+3 bikes for both events for $496 USD.

Double Ride  - 'The Border & Beyond'  & 'The Coast to Angkor' itinerary:

  • Day 1: Phnom Penh - Arrival & Welcome Event (D)

    Arrive at a stunning riverside retreat, a luxurious five-star destination situated along the Mekong River, just outside the city. The afternoon offers free time for relaxation and independent exploration. In the evening, gather with fellow travelers and the tour team for a welcome reception at the retreat, a chance to meet your companions and anticipate the exciting journey ahead.

  • Day 2: Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham - Mekong River Ride (B, L, D,) (115km Door to Door)

    Embark on your cycling journey, riding along the banks of the mighty Mekong River. Experience the vibrant energy of Phnom Penh as you cycle through the city and out into the surrounding countryside, where the landscape opens up to reveal the true beauty of rural Cambodia. As you ride, you'll witness the daily lives of farmers who rely on the fertile Mekong Delta, observing their traditional farming practices and gaining a glimpse into their deep connection to the river. The route follows the river's course, offering picturesque scenery and glimpses into local life along the way. A highlight of the day is cycling across the iconic Bamboo Bridge in Kampong Cham, a unique and memorable experience.   • Day 3: Kampong Cham to Kratie - Mekong River & Rural Life (B, L, D) (100km Door to Door)

    Day two of your cycling adventure continues to follow the majestic Mekong River, leading you further into the heart of rural Cambodia. Leaving Kampong Cham behind, the ride offers a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of those who call this region home. As you pedal along, you'll pass through picturesque villages, where traditional wooden houses line the riverbanks, and children wave enthusiastically as you cycle by.

    The route meanders through this idyllic scenery, offering a chance to truly connect with the rhythm of rural Cambodian life. Midday, enjoy a delicious picnic lunch prepared by the dedicated Ripple Effect Rides team, a chance to refuel and relax amidst the beauty of the countryside. The afternoon's ride continues along the Mekong, showcasing its ever-changing character as it flows south. Arrive in Kratie, a charming town known for its relaxed atmosphere and stunning river views, and check into your comfortable accommodation for the night.

  • Day 4: Kratie to Stung Treng - Remote Cambodia, Laos Border, & Dine Beneath the Stars (B, L, D) (58km + 1hr Transfer)

    Today's ride ventures into the more remote northeastern region of Cambodia, offering a unique perspective on the country's diverse landscapes. Leaving Kratie, the route continues to follow the mighty Mekong River, but the scenery begins to transform as you journey further north. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, punctuated by the sounds of nature. A delicious picnic lunch, prepared by the tour team, will be enjoyed in a scenic spot along the way. As the day comes to a close, a 1-hour transfer will bring you to an area near the Laos border. This special evening begins with a short 15-minute boat trip down the river to a secluded sandbank island. Here, under a canopy of stars, a private dinner will be prepared, offering a truly magical dining experience. After your memorable dinner on the sandbank, return by boat to your accommodation for the night.

  • Day 5: Stung Treng to Koh Ker - Ancient Temples & Lost Cities (B, L, D) (2.5hr Transfer + 67km + 15min Transfer)

    Rise and shine to a delightful group breakfast at your accommodation, enjoying the serene atmosphere before embarking on today's adventure. Following breakfast, a comfortable two-and-a-half hour transfer will take you to Preah Vihear province, the starting point for your ride to Koh Ker. From Preah Vihear, the cycling begins on remote, yet sealed roads, offering a smooth ride through this less-visited region. This scenic route allows you to experience the authentic Cambodian countryside, passing through small villages and offering glimpses of rural life. The sealed road continues for the majority of the ride, providing a pleasant cycling experience. As you approach the Koh Ker temple complex, the route transitions from the sealed road to more rustic, unpaved roads as you enter the temple area itself. This final section of the ride adds a touch of adventure as you explore the area surrounding this hidden gem of Cambodian history. Koh Ker offers a glimpse into a lost city, predating even Angkor Wat. Explore the temples, marvel at their unique architecture, and imagine the lives of those who once inhabited this ancient city. Check into your accommodation, your base for exploring this fascinating site.

  • Day 6: Koh Ker to Siem Reap - The Road to Angkor & a REACH Finish Line Welcome (B, L, D) (50min Transfer + 60km)

    Embark on the final leg of your cycling adventure, a journey towards the legendary city of Siem Reap and the magnificent temples of Angkor. Begin with a 50-minute transfer to Beng Melea temple, where you'll explore the ancient ruins before starting your ride. Leaving Koh Ker behind, the landscape gradually transforms as you approach the bustling city. The ride offers a chance to reflect on the incredible journey you've undertaken, from the vibrant capital of Phnom Penh to the remote reaches of the northeast. As lunchtime approaches, you'll be joined by our REACH Siem Reap team, adding an extra dimension to this final stretch. Together, you'll cycle towards the finish line, where a heartwarming welcome awaits. REACH’s NGO students and the wider community will be there to cheer you through the gates, celebrating your incredible achievement and the positive impact you've made. Following the finish line, transfer to Siem Reap’s city centre and check into your 5-star accommodation, where a well-deserved evening of celebration awaits you after your epic ride.

  • Day 7: Departure + Optional Afternoon at REACH Siem Reap (B)

    Check out of the hotel and bid farewell to Siem Reap, carrying with you the memories of an unforgettable adventure.

    On Day 7, REACH Siem Reap will host an optional afternoon at the school, where riders will learn more about the cause they have supported; a transfer to and from the school by minivan from the accommodation will be included on this day.

  • Days 8 - 10: Non-Tour Rest Days

    The rest days between the 'Coast to Angkor' and 'Border & Beyond' tours are intentionally flexible, allowing you to tailor your downtime to your personal preferences. These rest days are not included in the standard 'Double Ride' package price, granting you the freedom to explore independently or simply relax. 


    However, should you wish to extend your stay and have us handle the arrangements, our team will be delighted to offer a curated selection of add-on options closer to the tour dates, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable transition between your two incredible cycling adventures.

  • Day 11: Kampot - Arrival & Welcome Drinks Event (D)

    Arrive at the luxurious Amber Kampot. For those arriving from Phnom Penh, a complimentary shuttle service is available from the Palace Gate Hotel at 9:30 AM. For guests arriving from other locations within Cambodia, support with internal transfers can be arranged. Check-in and settle into your room. The afternoon is yours to explore the charming town of Kampot. Visit the local pepper plantations, relax by the river, or simply unwind at the hotel.    At 5:30 PM, join the Ripple Effect Rides team and the REACH Siem Reap community for a special welcome event. Enjoy a delightful evening with 3-hour of free-flow wine, beers, and soft drinks, accompanied by a delicious set menu dinner. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow riders and learn more about the incredible work of REACH Siem Reap.

  • Day 12: Kampot to Kep - Coastal Charm (B, L, D) (87km Door to Door)

    Today marks the start of your cycling adventure! Embark on a challenging yet rewarding ride, navigating the rolling hills surrounding the Kampot pepper plantations. Stop at the Kampot Salt Farms to learn about this unique local farming practice. Enjoy a delicious local Cambodian lunch at a restaurant near the picturesque Kampong Trach Water Cave. Push forward with a strong finish, cycling directly to the coastal town of Kep. Arrive at your hotel and unwind as you soak in the relaxed atmosphere of this charming coastal town.

  • Day 13: Kep to Takeo - Inland Adventures (B, L, D) (116km Door to Door)

    Today's journey takes you further off the beaten path, venturing inland through picturesque Cambodian countryside. Cycle past small villages and experience the authentic rural life. You'll encounter stunning landscapes as you navigate through a mix of terrains, gaining a deeper understanding of the Cambodian countryside.   Enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by the dedicated Ripple Effect Rides support crew at a local Pagoda, offering a unique and authentic dining experience. Continue your cycling adventure, immersing yourself in the tranquility of rural Cambodia. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the local guesthouse and debrief after a challenging but rewarding day of cycling.

  • Day 14: Takeo to Kampong Speu - Cultural Exploration (B, L, D) (97km Door to Door)

    Today presents a challenging yet rewarding ride. Cycle through scenic countryside, navigating a mix of sealed roads and off-road tracks. You'll traverse through remote villages, gaining a deeper understanding of rural Cambodian life. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch amidst the serene beauty of the rice paddies at a local pagoda, prepared by the dedicated Ripple Effect Rides support crew.

    After lunch, continue your cycling adventure through a series of populated remote villages, enjoying the scenic views of the surrounding mountains. You'll navigate well-maintained concrete roads, offering a unique perspective on rural Cambodian life. Arrive in Kampong Speu and celebrate your accomplishments with a delicious dumpling feast at a local favorite

  • Day 15: Kampong Speu to Phnom Penh - River Crossing (B, L, D) (54km Door to Door)

    Today presents a challenging yet rewarding ride on mainly concrete roads on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. With the outskirts of the city under development, expect a mix of cemented roads and dusty tracks, offering a realistic view of Cambodia. The ride will end at approximately 60km, at a local restaurant frequented by tourists near the Cheoung Ek Genocidal Centre.

    Following lunch, first-time riders will visit the Cheoung Ek Genocidal Centre, a poignant and sobering experience that provides a deeper understanding of Cambodia's history. After the visit, a 30-50 minute transfer will take you back to the beautiful 5-star Palace Gate Hotel.

    The evening will be a time for reflection and celebration. Enjoy a well-deserved rest night/halfway celebration with 3 hours of free-flow wine, beers, and soft drinks, accompanied by a delicious set menu dinner.

  • Day 16: Phnom Penh - Rest & Explore (B) (Rest Day)

    Enjoy a well-deserved rest day at the Palace Gate Hotel. Breakfast is included. Today is yours to explore Phnom Penh at your own pace.Perhaps visit the Royal Palace or the Silver Pagoda, or simply wander through the vibrant streets and soak in the atmosphere of this bustling capital city.

  • Day 17: Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham - River Roads & Boat Crossings (B, L, D) (116km Door to Door)

    Start the day with an early breakfast and embark on a scenic ride along the Mekong River. Enjoy the picturesque scenery and the vibrant local life as you cycle through charming villages. Today's ride includes two exciting boat crossings, adding a unique element to your Cambodian adventure.

    Enjoy the final picnic lunch of the tour, savoring the flavors of Ripple Effect Rides’ signature pagoda lunches.  Cycle through the beautiful countryside, enjoying the lush scenery as you pass through Koh Pen, a small island in the Mekong River.. To conclude the day of riding, cycle across the iconic Bamboo Bridge in Kampong Cham, a truly unique experience.

  • Day 18: Kampong Cham to Kampong Thom – Remote Riding & Rolling Hills (B, L, D) (58km Cycle + 1hr Transfer)

These incredible young cyclists will be riding alongside you for the first part of the journey, creating an unforgettable experience. Cycle past the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and have the option to experience a local Cambodian monk blessing. Following the ride, celebrate your success with a celebratory lunch at the REACH Siem Reap center. Hundreds of children and parents from the community will be there to cheer you on as you cross the finish line.

    The evening will be spent at the luxurious FCC Angkor. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and celebrate your incredible achievement with a gala dinner featuring 3 hours of free-flow wine, beers, and soft drinks.

  • Day 21: Departure + Optional Afternoon at REACH Siem Reap (B)

    Check out of the hotel and bid farewell to Siem Reap, carrying with you the memories of an unforgettable adventure.

  • What are the Ride to REACH charity challenges?

    These are multi-day cycling events organized by Ripple Effect Rides in partnership with REACH Siem Reap, aimed at raising funds to support vulnerable children in Cambodia. We offer two main routes: "The Coast to Angkor" (650km) and "The Border & Beyond" (400km).

  • Is the fundraising mandatory?

    "Yes, fundraising is an integral and mandatory part of the Ride to REACH experience. All riders are required to meet the minimum fundraising commitment of $3,250 USD per person for the single ride and $6,500 USD for the double ride.  This commitment is crucial to supporting the vital work REACH Siem Reap does for children and families within the community. Failure to meet this minimum fundraising target will unfortunately mean that the participant will not be able to join the ride. We believe this commitment ensures that every rider is fully invested in the purpose of the challenge, maximising the positive impact we can collectively make.

  • Where do the funds go?

    The funds raised through Ride to REACH go directly to REACH Siem Reap's life-changing 13 poverty-alleviating programs.


    These programs provide vital support to more than 375 children and their families, empowering them to build brighter futures and break the cycle of poverty.

    The Ride to REACH challenges are designed to be physically demanding and rewarding. Each day's ride ranges from 55 to 116 kilometers, covering a diverse mix of terrain, including flat stretches, rolling hills, and challenging off-road sections. Expect to encounter varied surfaces, from smooth asphalt to rural unpaved paths and more rugged trails. While these rides are challenging, they are also designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of varying fitness levels. We provide a fully equipped air-conditioned support vehicle that accompanies the group at all times, offering assistance and a place to rest when needed. However, to fully enjoy the experience and ensure your safety, we strongly recommend that participants engage in a dedicated training program before the event. Regular cycling and cardiovascular exercise will help you prepare for the physical demands of these incredible journeys.

  • What kind of support will I receive during the tour?

    Throughout your Ride to REACH journey, you'll receive comprehensive support from our dedicated team. We provide pre-tour arrival support to assist with any logistical questions or preparations. During the ride, a skilled tour leader will guide you along the route, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience. Our experienced mechanic will be on hand to address any bike-related issues, and our water/ice support team members will keep you hydrated and refreshed. An air-conditioned support vehicle will accompany the group at all times, offering assistance and a comfortable place to rest when needed, ensuring you are well taken care of every step of the way.

    Once you've submitted your reservation, our team will be in touch within one working day to issue your invoice. A 30% deposit is payable to secure your place on the ride, ensuring your participation in this life-changing adventure.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    • Cancellation 91 days or more before departure: Full refund (less bank fees).
    • Cancellation 61 days or more before departure: Loss of deposit and bank fees.
    • Cancellation 60 days or less before departure: Loss of 70% of total tour costs.
    • Cancellation 30 days or less before departure: Loss of all funds.
