At a Glance:
Experience the full Ride to REACH challenge with our “Double Ride” package. This combined journey brings together the “Coast to Angkor” and “The Mekong Ride” for a 21-day event covering a total of 1050km over 13 days of riding. By taking on both routes, you are providing vital support to more than 375 vulnerable children and families served by REACH Siem Reap.
Part 1: Coast to Angkor (11 Days) – 4 Jan – 14 Jan, 2027
Your journey begins with an 11-day adventure through the heart of Cambodia. This opening 650km event is designed with 8 days of riding and a dedicated rest day in the middle to recharge before the final push to Angkor. You will pedal through diverse landscapes, from the southern coast and rural villages to the ancient temples of Angkor. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in Cambodian culture, connect with local communities, and see the impact of your fundraising efforts firsthand. This first challenge culminates in a finish alongside the REACH Riders Club.
Part 2: The Mekong Ride (7 Days) – 18 Jan – 24 Jan, 2027
Following a 3-day break, you will embark on the second leg of the Double Ride. The Mekong Ride is a 5-day cycling journey (6 nights, 7 days in total) covering 400km through the rural heart of the country. Starting in the capital of Phnom Penh and finishing back at the temples of Angkor via a different route, you will pedal alongside the Mekong River, crossing iconic bamboo bridges and passing through traditional riverside villages. The journey culminates in a ride through the historic grounds of Angkor Wat, where you will be joined by the students your fundraising supports, ending with a community celebration at the REACH finish line.
The Double Ride Experience:
This 18-day experience is a blend of physical challenge and cultural immersion. You will be riding with a group of like-minded people, all united by the goal of raising vital funds for REACH Siem Reap. While the distance is significant, the journey is designed to be inclusive and welcomes riders of varying abilities.
The event is fully supported by air-conditioned vehicles at all times, and e-bikes are available for those who prefer them. By completing the Double Ride, you are making a significant contribution to the education and healthcare programmes provided by REACH.
Equipment:
For our Ride to REACH events, we provide the Cannondale Trail 6 as our standard touring bicycle. This is a reliable and comfortable bike equipped with 2×8 speed gearing, hydraulic disc brakes, and front suspension with lockout for varied terrain. Adjustable stems are available upon request to ensure a personalised fit, and each bike (sizes S, M, L, and XL) includes two bottle holders. We also provide a bike stand, helmet, top tube phone bag, and bell.
For riders seeking an extra boost, we offer the option to upgrade to pedal-assist with Giant Talon E+3 bikes for $496 USD.
Note: Due to the dynamic nature of road development and potential changes in road conditions, the provided estimates for cycling distances and transfer times are approximations and may be subject to change.

The Coastal Ride:
- 9 nights of twin-share accommodation, and last night of single supplement
- All snacks, drinks, and meals are included from dinner on 04-01-27 to breakfast on 14-01-27 (excluding lunch and dinner on the scheduled rest day). The tour features welcome drinks, a rest night, and a finish line dinner event with free-flow drinks and a set menu.

Arrival & Welcome Drinks Event (D)
Welcome to the start of your adventure! Our journey begins in Kep at the luxurious Knai Bang Chatt Resort. For guests arriving from Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville, support with internal transfers can be arranged. After your arrival, you can check-in and settle into your room. The afternoon is yours to relax at the resort or explore the quiet beach town of Kep.
From 5:30 PM, join the Ripple Effect Rides team for a casual Meet & Greet, where you can hand over your personal pedals and saddles to the crew for installation. Then, at 6:30 PM, join fellow riders for our official Welcome Drinks Event, a perfect opportunity to connect with your fellow adventurers and set the stage for the incredible journey ahead.

Coastal Charm (B, L, D) – 87 km Door to Door
Embark on a challenging yet rewarding ride, navigating the rolling hills surrounding the Kampot pepper plantations. Stop at the Kampot Salt Farms to learn about this unique local farming practice. Enjoy a delicious local Cambodian lunch at a restaurant near the picturesque Kampong Trach Water Cave. Push forward with a strong finish, cycling directly to the coastal town of Kep. Arrive at your hotel and unwind as you soak in the relaxed atmosphere of this charming coastal town.

Inland Adventures (B, L, D) – 106 km Door to Door
Today’s journey takes you further off the beaten path, venturing inland through picturesque Cambodian countryside. Cycle past small villages and experience the authentic rural life. You’ll encounter stunning landscapes as you navigate through a mix of terrains, gaining a deeper understanding of the Cambodian countryside.
Enjoy a picnic lunch prepared by the dedicated Ripple Effect Rides support crew at a local Pagoda, offering a unique and authentic dining experience. Continue your cycling adventure, immersing yourself in the tranquility of rural Cambodia. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the local guesthouse and debrief after a challenging but rewarding day of cycling.

Cultural Exploration – 93 km Door to Door
Today presents a challenging yet rewarding ride. Cycle through scenic countryside, navigating a mix of sealed roads and off-road tracks. You’ll traverse through remote villages, gaining a deeper understanding of rural Cambodian life. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch amidst the serene beauty of the rice paddies at a local pagoda, prepared by the dedicated Ripple Effect Rides support crew.
After lunch, we continue through a series of populated villages with views of the surrounding mountains. The route takes us along well-maintained concrete roads, offering a different perspective on the local landscape. We’ll finish the day in Kampong Speu, where we will celebrate the day’s ride with a dumpling feast at a local favourite restaurant.

City Outskirts & Reflection – 54 km Riding + 45 min Transfer
Today presents a challenging yet rewarding ride on mainly concrete roads on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. With the outskirts of the city under development, expect a mix of cemented roads and dusty tracks, offering a realistic view of Cambodia. The ride will end at approximately 54km, at a local restaurant frequented by tourists near the Cheoung Ek Genocidal Centre.
Following lunch, first-time riders will visit the Cheoung Ek Genocidal Centre, a poignant and sobering experience that provides a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s history. After the visit, a 30-50 minute transfer will take you back to the beautiful 5-star Palace Gate Hotel.
The evening will be a time for reflection and celebration. Enjoy a well-deserved rest night/halfway celebration with 3 hours of free-flow wine, beers, and soft drinks, accompanied by a delicious set menu dinner.

Rest & Explore (B) – Rest Day
Enjoy a well-deserved rest day at the Palace Gate Hotel. Breakfast is included. Today is yours to explore Phnom Penh at your own pace.Perhaps visit the Royal Palace or the Silver Pagoda, or simply wander through the vibrant streets and soak in the atmosphere of this bustling capital city.
You can choose to visit the poignant Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, reflecting more on Cambodia’s history. Alternatively, relax by the hotel pool, indulge in a traditional Khmer massage, or immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Phnom Penh’s bustling markets.

River Roads & Boat Crossings (B, L, D) – 115 km Door to Door
Start the day with an early breakfast and embark on a scenic ride along the Mekong River. Enjoy the picturesque scenery and the vibrant local life as you cycle through charming villages. Today’s ride includes two exciting boat crossings, adding a unique element to your Cambodian adventure.
Enjoy the final picnic lunch of the tour, savoring the flavors of Ripple Effect Rides’ signature pagoda lunches.
Cycle through the beautiful countryside, enjoying the lush scenery as you pass through Koh Pen, a small island in the Mekong River.. To conclude the day of riding, cycle across the iconic Bamboo Bridge in Kampong Cham, a truly unique experience.

Remote Riding & Rolling Hills (B, L, D) – 69 km Cycling + 90 min Transfer
Today’s ride takes you deeper into the Cambodian countryside. Cycle through scenic landscapes, enjoying the rolling hills and learning about the local agriculture as you pass Kampong Cham’s cashew farms and rubber plantations.
Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at a charming local restaurant. After lunch, a 1-hour transfer will then take you to your accommodation for the evening. Upon arrival to your hotel, enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool at the Glorious Hotel & Spa in Kampong Thom.

Ancient Wonders (B, L, D) – 120 min Transfer + 87 km Cycling
The day begins with a necessary 2-hour transfer to avoid the highway and into the rural roads of Kampong Kdei. Embark on a challenging yet rewarding ride through the Cambodian countryside. Cycle across the ancient bridge and through remote red dirt roads, enjoying the changing scenery and gaining a deeper understanding of rural life.
Enjoy a delicious local lunch in Beng Melea, savoring beautiful local cuisine. Continue cycling towards Siem Reap, arriving in the outskirts of the city. This night will be the final private dinner together as a group, reflecting on the incredible journey and the positive impact made.

A Triumphant Finish (B, L, D) – 39 km
Today is an extremely special day! Start your morning with an exhilarating ride, joined by the enthusiastic REACH Riders Club. These incredible young cyclists will be riding alongside you for the first part of the journey, creating an unforgettable experience. Cycle past the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and have the option to experience a local Cambodian monk blessing. Following the ride, celebrate your success with a celebratory lunch at the REACH Siem Reap center. Hundreds of children and parents from the community will be there to cheer you on as you cross the finish line.
The evening will be spent at the luxurious FCC Angkor. Enjoy a well-deserved rest and celebrate your incredible achievement with a gala dinner featuring 3 hours of free-flow wine, beers, and soft drinks.

Departure + Optional Afternoon at REACH Siem Reap (B) – Bus Transfer
Check out of the hotel and bid farewell to Siem Reap, carrying with you the memories of an unforgettable adventure.
On Day 11, REACH Siem Reap will host an optional afternoon at the school, where riders will learn more about the cause they have supported; a transfer to and from the school by bus from FCC will be included on this day.

Recovery and Transition
Following the completion of the first leg, these three days provide a well-earned break to recharge. You are free to spend this time at your leisure; you may choose to remain in Siem Reap to relax or make your own way down to Phnom Penh early to explore the capital. On January 18th, Ripple Effect Rides offers a complimentary transportation service for all Double Riders from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh to ensure everyone is in position for the start of the next challenge.

Arrival & Welcome Event (D)
Today everyone converges in Phnom Penh to begin the second leg of the journey. For those who chose to remain in Siem Reap to relax, a complimentary transfer is provided today to bring you down to the capital. If you chose to head to Phnom Penh early to spend your rest days there, please make your way to The Palace Gate Hotel to check in.
The afternoon is yours to relax by the pool or explore the city at your leisure. From 5:30 PM, join the Ripple Effect Rides team for a casual meet and greet to hand over your personal pedals and saddles for installation. At 6:30 PM, we will hold our official Welcome Drinks Event at the hotel—a great chance to reconnect with the Double Riders and meet the new participants joining us for the Mekong Ride.

Mekong River Ride (B, L, D) – 116 km
Embark on your cycling journey, riding along the banks of the mighty Mekong River. Experience the vibrant energy of Phnom Penh as you cycle through the city and out into the surrounding countryside, where the landscape opens up to reveal the true beauty of rural Cambodia. As you ride, you’ll witness the daily lives of farmers who rely on the fertile Mekong Delta, observing their traditional farming practices and gaining a glimpse into their deep connection to the river. The route follows the river’s course, offering picturesque scenery and glimpses into local life along the way. A highlight of the day is cycling across the iconic Bamboo Bridge in Kampong Cham—a unique and memorable experience. Arrive in Kampong Cham and check into Hanchey Bamboo, a unique riverside accommodation offering stunning views of the Mekong.

Mekong River & Rural Life (B, L, D) – 98 km
Day two of your cycling adventure continues to follow the majestic Mekong River, leading you further into the heart of rural Cambodia. Leaving Kampong Cham behind, the ride offers a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of those who call this region home. As you pedal along, you’ll pass through picturesque villages where traditional wooden houses line the riverbanks and children wave enthusiastically as you cycle by.
The route meanders through this idyllic scenery, offering a chance to connect with the rhythm of rural Cambodian life. Midday, enjoy a delicious picnic lunch prepared by the dedicated Ripple Effect Rides team—a chance to refuel and relax amidst the beauty of the countryside. The afternoon’s ride continues along the Mekong, showcasing its ever-changing character as it flows towards the sea. Arrive in Kratie, a charming town known for its relaxed atmosphere and stunning river views, and check into Sorya Guesthouse, your comfortable haven for the night.

River Crossings & Countryside Trails (B, L, D) – 77 km Cycling + 90 min Transfer
Today’s ride offers a unique blend of river crossings, scenic cycling, and cultural discovery as we journey towards Kampong Thom. Leaving Kratie, we first cycle north to catch a local ferry, providing a wonderful view of the Mekong River. Once across, the route turns, following the majestic Mekong as it winds through charming rural landscapes. A delicious lunch will be enjoyed at a convenient location along the way. After lunch, we cover another stretch of peaceful countryside cycling before we meet our support vehicle. From here, you’ll enjoy a well-deserved air-conditioned transfer to Kampong Thom, a central Cambodian province known for its historical temples and tranquil atmosphere. Upon arrival, you can relax and refresh at your hotel, Sambor Village, ready for the final days of your adventure.

REACH Welcome Ride (B, L, D) – 150 min Transfer + 70 km Cycling
Rise and shine to a delightful group breakfast before we prepare for our final push towards Siem Reap. Following breakfast, we’ll take an air-conditioned transfer which brings us closer to our destination and the heart of the ancient Khmer Empire. From our starting point, the cycling adventure begins in Siem Reap province. Today, we cycle through the peaceful outskirts of the temple area—a beautiful, evocative ride offering your first glimpses of the stunning landscape surrounding the historic sites. This is a special day as we will be joined by members of the REACH Siem Reap team, who will cycle alongside us, sharing their stories and connecting you directly with the cause you are supporting.
Enjoy a delicious lunch along the route. As the afternoon progresses, we will complete our challenge by cycling directly into our hotel for the evening. Check in, feeling a tremendous sense of accomplishment, and relax at our base in Siem Reap, ready for tomorrow’s visit to Angkor Wat.

The Road to Angkor & a REACH Finish Line Welcome (B, L, D) – 39 km
Today is the highly anticipated finale of your journey, blending the wonder of Angkor with the heartfelt spirit of REACH Siem Reap. The day begins early with a transfer to Angkor Wat to witness a spectacular group sunrise over the iconic towers. Following this magical moment, we will enjoy a visit to the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex itself. The adventure continues as you embark on a ride through the temple grounds, exploring the highlights of the complex, including Bayon and Ta Prohm. This experience is made even more profound as you share the ride with a special group of students and the team from REACH Siem Reap, connecting you directly to the impact of your efforts.
The ride culminates at the official REACH finish line gates, where the entire community will be waiting to cheer you through, celebrating your incredible achievement. A special celebration and celebratory lunch will be held immediately at the REACH centre. Following the finish line celebration, we will head to the luxurious FCC Angkor by AVANI, a perfect blend of colonial charm and modern comfort, to relax and prepare for your well-deserved evening of celebration: the Gala Dinner.
