The Mekong Ride

Overview

At a Glance:

The Mekong Ride is a 5-day cycling journey (6 nights, 7 days in total) that combines a 400km cycling challenge with a clear social purpose. This ride is designed to support more than 350 vulnerable children and families served by REACH Siem Reap.

Starting in the capital of Phnom Penh and finishing at the temples of Angkor, you will pedal alongside the Mekong River, crossing bamboo bridges and passing through rural villages. The trip culminates in a finish through the historic grounds of Angkor Wat, where you will be joined by the students and team members your fundraising supports.

The journey ends at the REACH finish line with a community celebration, highlighting the impact of your efforts in providing vital education and healthcare. The Mekong Ride is where adventure meets purpose.

Equipment:

For our Ride to REACH events, we provide the Cannondale Trail 6 as our standard touring bicycle. This is a reliable and comfortable bike equipped with 2×8 speed gearing, hydraulic disc brakes, and front suspension with lockout for varied terrain. Adjustable stems are available upon request to ensure a personalised fit, and each bike (sizes S, M, L, and XL) includes two bottle holders. We also provide a bike stand, helmet, top tube phone bag, and bell.

For riders seeking an extra boost, we offer the option to upgrade to pedal-assist with Giant Talon E+3 bikes for $196 USD.
