Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your relationship with Ripple Effect Rides and your participation in our tours and events. Your booking and payment constitute your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

1. Booking & Cancellation Policy

Day Tours & Community Rides

      • Booking: Our Day Tours and Community Rides can be booked up to 17 hours prior to the scheduled start time. Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your
      • Cancellation Policy:
        • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the event’s start time will receive a full refund.
        • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event’s start time will be charged in full, and no refund will be issued.
      • No-Shows: If you do not show up for your tour or ride, you will be considered a “no- show,” and your payment will be forfeited. No refund will be issued.

Charity Rides (Multi-Day Tours)

    • Booking and Payments: A 30% deposit of the total tour cost is required to secure your spot. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance is due 90 days before the tour start Payments can be made by card, or you can opt to make the full payment at the time of booking via bank transfer.
    • Mandatory Travel Insurance: It is a condition of booking that all participants have valid travel insurance for the duration of the This insurance must cover personal injury, medical expenses, and repatriation costs. Proof of insurance may be required prior to the tour start date.
    • Cancellation Policy:
      • Cancellations made 90 days or more before the tour start date will receive a full refund, minus any applicable fees and unrecoverable costs.
      • Cancellations made between 60 and 89 days before the tour start date will incur a 50% loss of the total tour cost.
    • Cancellations made between 30 and 59 days before the tour start date will incur a 75% loss of the total tour cost.
    • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the tour start date are non-
    • Deferment of Booking: At Ripple Effect Rides’ discretion, a tour booking may be deferred for up to 24 months. Depending on the date of deferment, loss of deposits or initial payments on the tour will be applied as per the cancellation policy above. All remaining funds paid will then be held and applied to a future event hosted by the same cause.
    • No-Shows: Participants who do not show up for the tour will be considered a “no-show,” and their payment will be forfeited. No refund will be issued.
    • Changes to Booking: Any requests to change a booking must be submitted to us as soon as possible. All change requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and we cannot guarantee that changes can be made.
    • Changes to Itinerary: While we make every effort to adhere to the published itinerary, we reserve the right to make minor changes or adjustments to the route or schedule due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather, road conditions, or safety concerns.
    • Company Cancellation: In the rare event that we must cancel a tour, you will be offered a full refund, minus any applicable fees or unrecoverable costs, or the option to reschedule for a future date. We are not responsible for any additional costs incurred, such as flights or accommodation.

Custom Tours

Due to the unique and tailored nature of our custom tours, the specific booking and cancellation policy, including any applicable fees and unrecoverable costs, will be outlined in your personalised tour proposal and agreement. This policy is developed on a case-by-case basis to account for the specific arrangements and booking conditions of your bespoke itinerary. Your dedicated agreement will include all relevant information regarding payments, deposits, and cancellation terms.

2. Donations and Social Impact

A core part of the mission of Ripple Effect Rides is our commitment to supporting our partners.

    • Day Tours: For every Day Tour ticket purchased, 10% of the ticket cost is a direct donation to a At the time of booking, customers can choose to support one of our partners.
    • Custom Tours: A donation to a partner of the customer’s choice is included as part of the total cost of all Custom Tours. The specific amount will be outlined in the customer’s personalised tour proposal.

All donations collected by Ripple Effect Rides are considered final and are strictly non- refundable.

We collect and process donations monthly. Funds raised from the previous calendar month are disbursed to the respective partners on the 15th of the current month. For custom tours, the donation is disbursed in the month the tour is completed.

3. Fundraising Target (Charity Rides)

If the long-distance charity bike ride you have booked has an associated minimum fundraising target set out by the cause, this target must be met to attend the tour. If a customer falls short of the required minimum target, the customer will be able to cancel or defer their tour as per our booking and cancellation policies. Funds raised from any deferred or cancelled charity ride will be carried forward to future events (hosted by the same cause) for up to 24 months. 100% of all funds raised for our partners goes directly to the charities, and all funds donated are strictly non-refundable.

4. Assumption of Risk & Liability

There are inherent risks involved in cycling and mountain biking, and Ripple Effect Rides will not be liable for your medical expenses or evacuation in case of an accident. Comprehensive travel Insurance that covers medical and emergency evacuation is a requirement for all long-distance tours. Mountain biking is considered an extreme sport by some travel insurance providers, so be sure to read the fine print to make sure this activity is covered. Management will request copies of your comprehensive insurance prior to the tour start date. All customers will be required to sign and return a “Release of Liability and Assumption of All Risks” form before the trip departure date. Any person/s that fail to provide the above-listed documents will not be allowed to join the tour and the cancellation policy will apply.

5. Force Majeure Policy

Our company is not liable for any cancellations or delays due to force majeure events, which are defined as events that are beyond our reasonable control. These events may include, but are not limited to, war, terrorism, natural disasters, government restrictions, and labour strikes. If a force majeure event occurs, we will make every effort to reschedule your tour or provide a full refund. However, we cannot guarantee that either of these options will be available. In the event of a force majeure event, we will notify you as soon as possible and provide updates on the situation as they become available.

6. Participant Conduct

For the safety and enjoyment of all participants and to respect the local communities we visit, all customers agree to the following code of conduct:

    • Follow Guide Instructions: You must follow the instructions of your guides at all
    • Cultural and Local Etiquette: Show respect for local Cambodian customs and culture, including dressing appropriately when visiting religious sites.
    • Environmental Responsibility: You must not use any single-use plastics during our Do not litter, and do not remove any natural or historical items from the environment.
    • Safety & Well-being: You must not be under the influence of illegal drugs or excessive alcohol during the tour.
    • Respectful Behaviour: Ripple Effect Rides has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour towards our guides, staff, or other
7. General Eligibility

All participants must be 18 years of age or older. Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is 18 years or older. It is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to ensure the minor complies with all terms and conditions, including signing the liability waiver.

8. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cambodia.
